The Story Behind the Creation:
This CD series was created because we know that life is extremely hectic and our world is technologically rapid. The pace of life can take a toll on stress levels, hearts, connection, health, and our ability to live fully. This project came as a result of a collision of ideas, opening of hearts, connection of friends and from the growing needs of children and teens. Our society has become more stressful, more busy, and overwhelming for many kids and teens ~ and of course for the grown-ups too. The tracks on these CDs will help to energize and also relax children and teens. It can help to stimulate creative parts of the brain and help to relax the over-active parts. The CDs will also help to boost confidence and decrease anxiety and stress levels. Yoga is not a religion and the CDs do not promote any religious orientation. Yoga, the unity of the body and mind, has been around for thousands of years. Kundalini Yoga is a combination of deep breathing (pranayama), hand positions (mudra), poses (asanas), sound vibration (chanting) and meditation. The amazing yoga technologies have been successful at helping to reduce anxiety, stress, sleep difficulties, and even pain. These CDs offer a combination of Kundalini yoga, meditation, creative directives, and guided imagery.
Creative Executive Director:
Sherri Snyder-Roche has been a psychotherapist for 30 years, and has worked with children, teens, and families. Over the past ten years she has witnessed the increase of anxiety and stress levels of kids. They often tell her of their difficulty sleeping, headaches, stomache-aches, and constant worries. Pediatricians have referred hundreds of children to her for guidance and concrete techniques to help decrease their anxiety. Some kids have even told her, "Sherri, I worry so much- I hate it! I just want to be normal like other kids". Sherri incorporates a variety of techniques into her therapeutic practice such as: creativity, play, games, meditation, music, guided imagery, and in the past few years.... adding yoga. The response has been amazing!! They love it and report positive changes. Parents also report positive changes in their kids. Combining Kundalini Yoga, art, creativity, guided imagery and other Yoga technologies has had a great impact on kids. From their responses, she decided to create an original CD with her own guided imagery scripts and has tried them out with her clients. And the idea of this CD was born. Enjoy!
